چکیده
Abstract Before planning the use of existing land resources for irrigation, it is necessary to determine their availability. The primary goal this research was examine Guder watershed's resource potential irrigation development and create a geo-referenced map these using geographic information system coupled with fuzzy logic. Irrigation suitability criteria such as slope, use, proximity water body, rainfall deficit, soil texture class, depth, drainage classes, road were considered when evaluating prospective irrigable properties. maps divided into four classes natural break interval range technique. According study's findings, 39.8% watershed area Highly suitable, 34.5% moderately acceptable, 24.5% marginally 1.2% not suitable aforementioned reasons. study characteristics, 70.42% 15.57% 10.6% 3.95% slope are Highly, moderately, surface respectively. In addition, 15% in Area system. terms cover 75% highly favorable, whereas 0.3% development. GIS remote sensing offer straightforward powerful framework combining spatially complicated field variables research. This demonstrates effectiveness logic technique combined an effective model finding on continental scale.

Land-Use Change Modelling in the Upper Blue Nile Basin
Land-use and land-cover changes are driving unprecedented changes in ecosystems and environmental processes at different scales. This study was aimed at identifying the potential land-use drivers in the Jedeb catchment of the Abbay basin by combining statistical analysis, field investigation and remote sensing. To do so, a land-use change model was calibrated and evaluated using the SITE (SImul...

Hydrological assessment is critical to the successful implementation of adaption measures. In this study, projections of seven global circulation models (GCMs) associated with high and medium–low Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP 8.5 and RCP 4.5) for the period 2021–2040 and 2081–2100 were adopted to assess changes on runoffs in the Gilgel Abbay watershed, the upper Blue Nile basin. A ...

In this study we evaluated changes in land cover and rainfall in the Upper Gilgel Abbay catchment in the Upper Blue Nile basin and how changes affected stream flow in terms of annual flow, high flows and low flows. Land cover change assessment was through classification analysis of remote sensing based land cover data while assessments on rainfall and stream flow data are by statistical analysi...

In the United States, federal management agencies, such as the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management are required to assess the capability of land for future use. In addition, Arizona law now requires local jurisdictions to prepare comprehensive and general plans. Suitability analysis can be used for compliance with several elements of these plans. Here, a framework for lan...
